ROTAX 9-SERIES INSPECTION, SERVICE, LINE AND HEAVY MAINTENANCE

Overview

While preparing for the arrival of his new Van’s Aircraft RV-12iS, Pat quickly learned what many owners and operators flying LSA and EAB equipped with Rotax aircraft engines experience … Local A&P mechanics do not possess Rotax aircraft engine education, training and experience, and had have little to no interest in working on Rotax aircraft engines. As a new LSA convert especially those powered by Rotax, Pat saw an opportunity to not only solve hi sneeds, but also help others in the LSA and Rotax Community in Southern Colorado. After earning his FAA Repairman (LSA) Certificate with a Maintenance Rating, he attended Rotax Flying and Safety Club (RFSC) Independent Rotax Maintenance Technician (IRMT) training courses leading to certification in 9 Series Service, 9-Series Maintenance and 9-Series Injected Installation, and audited 9-Series Heavy Maintenance course at Lockwood Aviation in Sebring, FL. After gaining the prerequisite 2-years experience, Pat subsequently completed the RFSC Heavy Maintenance course with Motive Aero Independent Service Center (ISC) at their Petaluma, CA facility thereby earning Heavy Maintenance IRMT credential. Today, Pat is passionate about proselytizing for current and future opportunities for LSA especially those that are Rotax powered and eagerly awaits the arrival of MOSAIC and the opportunities it will enable. Operating out of Meadow Lake Airport (KFLY), Mach 2 Plus, LLC is currently Southern Colorado’s only Rotax Independent Repair Centre (IRC), and Pat is fully certified to provide all your inspection, service and maintenance needs on your 9-Series Rotax engine.
